Dating my husband

I’d drink wine that’s not from a box and eat a hot meal that I didn’t have to share with anyone. I guess when you get out of the habit of doing something, you forget how great it can be. I have a Bachelors Degree in Child Development and Family Studies and a Masters in Counseling where I specialized in Play Therapy.I recently received the book, 175 Best Date Ideas, and I was super impressed by all the fun things! Some of them are fun date night ideas like bowling, bike rides, laser tag, and exploring bookstores. and in the end, all of that trying has only led to problems in my marriage. For us, giving each other time to do the things we love (for my husband, that means woodworking and for me, that's writing) are a way that we are putting each other's needs first. So here are a few simple reasons why I gave up dating my husband:1. It's always the same story: girl meets boy, boy asks her what she wants to do for date night, girl and boy fight. By making sure our own cups are full first, we're able to be more fulfilled as a couple together.7. Allow me to illustrate this point with an example from two nights ago: I had been planning our evolved version of a "date night," which basically looks like Netflix on the couch with a baby in my lap.I can have a glass of wine in the morning and drink until I pass out in the afternoon and wake up when my lover comes home and go to the pub with him and start drinking again. My husband can’t tolerate that behaviour which is why I moved in with my current lover.

I have taken far more advantage of the openness of our marriage than my husband, at least until recently.

This past Sunday my lover and I went to a country pub and I glanced in the dining room and saw my husband with a beautiful older woman, but not just any woman.

It was my mother and, from the way they looked at each other and were touching, I could tell instantly that it was more than a friendly lunch; they were quite obviously in love with each other.

I am drawn to men who are starkly different than my husband, who is an intellectual, moderate in terms of his vices and has a disdain for the type of men who spend every evening in a pub.

I have a drinking problem but it is not a problem I feel any need to resolve and I am drawn to men who are also drinkers like me.
